Since 1964, Planned Parenthood Ottawa has been empowering the Ottawa community to make informed sexual and reproductive health choices. Our experience and credibility ensure that your donation reaches a
broad section of the Ottawa community, through schools, community
groups and here at the PPO office. With our focus on informed decision-making, we
give clients (especially youth) the tools they need to discuss their
sexual health in a sex-positive, non-judgmental fashion.
Planned Parenthood Ottawa is a non-judgmental, pro-choice, confidential, supportive, GLBTTQ positive, youth positive organization.
Your donation:
- educates dozens of volunteers and community members through additional sessions of our Sexuality Awareness Program, a comprehensive training that connects students, volunteers and activists and community professionals in providing accurate, supportive and non-judgmental information
- ensures that sexual and reproductive health questions will always find a friendly and informed response. Our Information and Referral Service-- available in person, on the phone or over email-- has experienced a 40% increase since 2006.
- empowers young people to make informed sexual health choices. Insight Theatre, our for-youth, by-youth education program, uses humour and drama to create a profound impact on participants and audience members alike.
- provides engaging and thorough sexual health information workshops to schools and groups across the city. Through our Community Education Program, we speak to young people about contraception, sexually transmitted infections, healthy relationships and more!
- creates a safe space for women facing unintended pregnancies to receive and discuss accurate medical information about their available choices. Pregnancy Options Counseling is non-judgmental, pro-choice and best of all, always free.
- strengthens the local voice for women's right to choose. Since 1964, Planned Parenthood Ottawa has proudly supported the principle that "every child should be a wanted child."
